Mountrath, Laois, July 5th, 2021 – N’ware, an expert in the field of Enterprise Resource Planning and business applications software, today announced the creation of 25 new roles with the establishment of its European HQ in Mountrath Co Laois.

This project is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.

Established in 1995 in Quebec, Canada, N’Ware offers feature-loaded software solutions for small to mid-size businesses (SMEs) or subsidiaries of large enterprise corporations. N’ware, with its main customer base located in North America and LATAM, supports clients in more than 25 countries. Already an SAP Gold partner in certain geographies, N'ware will be working on the provision of software sales & services to the EMEA region, from its temporary base at Bloom HQ in Mountrath.

Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar TD said: “Congratulations to the team at N’ware on this exciting new chapter. I’m really happy that N’ware has chosen Mountrath for its European headquarters, creating 25 new jobs in Laois. Our highly skilled workforce is just one of the reasons why Ireland is recognised as a global hub for leading software companies like N’ware. I wish the team the very best of luck.”

Minister of State Department of Finance with responsibility for Financial Services, Credit Unions and Insurance Sean Fleming TD said: “N’ware’s announcement today is a very positive development for Laois. It is further evidence of the benefits of locating in the regions outside Dublin where there is access to talent, lower operating costs, and higher staff retention rates. I would like to welcome N’Ware to Mountrath and I look forward to working with them over the coming years.”

This is a unique strategic initiative for N’ware Technologies, as it creates its EMEA headquarters in Ireland, to tap into Ireland’s renowned software ecosystem and service its expanding EMEA markets.

”When we were considering the location from where to drive our European expansion, the choice for Ireland was a clear one, both as a viable local market for a business that is very aligned to our company culture, as well as a launching pad to expand our business into the Europe Middle East and Africa region.  Hiring our local Managing Director was an easy decision when we met Mark Rijke, who shares similar values and integrity that is so deep within the N’ware culture”, said Dan Parent, CEO of N’ware Technologies.

Mark Rijke Managing  Director EMEA said “We further selected the Laois region due to its central location in the country with good connectivity, as well as the fact that it provides us with the opportunity to offer the type of work/life balance to our employees which is part of the core set of values of N’ware Technologies. IDA Ireland has been great in its assistance with the whole process and certainly has made it much easier to get started. With our initial core team in place, we are now actively recruiting and are looking forward to welcoming further new colleagues on board.”

Bridgidine Nuns gift convent to Community of Mountrath

By Ann Marie Foley - 27 December, 2017

“In one way it was a sad moment, but it was a very life giving moment, that it has been taken over by such a dynamic group.”

Clare Byrne at the opening of the new hub

A convent school which educated thousands over a 200 year period has been given a new lease of life after lying empty for more than eight years.

The Brigidine Sisters have gifted in trust their former convent and boarding school premises to the local community in Co Laois. Past pupils including broadcaster Clare Byrne were present at the launch of what is to become the new Community Hub in Mountrath.

Sr Mary Sheehy was present to cut the ribbon on behalf of the Brigidine Sisters. “There are a number of activities planned with societies and clubs, training courses, cultural and sporting activities among them, and it will a include men’s shed and country market,” Sr Mary Sheehy told Catholicireland.net. “It is a very comprehensive project. We are delighted that they have taken it over we wish them every success and blessing in this venture. It is a marvellous dynamic hard working committee.”

The Sisters moved into a house in the community some time ago and the Brigidine, Patrician, and Vocational schools amalgamated into the new Mountrath Community School in 2009. The building has remained empty since then.

The four remaining Sisters work in the parish and SVP, and they have got involved in the hew hermitage and centre, Solas Bhride in nearby Kildare. However, it is the end of an era for the Brigidines who have been synonymous with education in Mountrath.

Speaking at the opening of the new hub Sr Mary Sheehy said, “In one way it was a sad moment, but it was a very life giving moment, that it has been taken over by such a dynamic group. We are very happy with the decision, but yes there was a certain amount of sadness but I think the hope would outweigh the sadness. We began here in Mountrath in 1809 so we are in that school for over 200 years.”

The Brigidine premises transformed into a marketplace

Just before Christmas the people of Mountrath turned out to enjoy a Christmas Market and activities after Sr Mary Sheehy, on behalf of the Brigidines, handed over a ceremonial key to the Mountrath Community Forum. Present were the local Councillor Jimmy Kelly, Fr Joe Brophy CC Mountrath Parish, and Forum Chairman Martin Meade, with committee members.

Forum Secretary Geraldine Moore, spoke of the contribution that the Brigidines made to the town over the last 200 years. She thanked them for their gift and what she called their greatest leap of faith.

Bishop Daniel Delaney set up the Mountrath Brigidine Community in 1809. The previous year he set up the Patricians who moved out of Ballyfin in recent years and their premises were turned into a luxury hotel.
